Obituary

LOWVILLE - William T. Enslow, 85, passed away on Monday evening, March 17, 2014, at the home of his granddaughter, Jamie Marolf and her daughters Lauryn and Kaylee and companion Billy Gokey with whom he had resided for the past five years. William was born on October 16, 1928, in Pierrepont to Theron and Effie Pearl Enslow and attended area schools. On December 2, 1952, he was married to Lorna C. Lardy in LaRochelle, France with Rev. Papon officiating, while he was serving in the US Army. He entered the service in 1950 serving overseas until 1953 when he was honorably discharged. Mrs. Enslow passed away on February 18, 2007. Mr. Enslow was a roller operator for the International Operating Engineers Union and was a member of the Local #545 out of Syracuse. He was a former member of the Lions Club of Croghan and also the Colton and Croghan Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed working with his wife at the craft shows and enjoyed traveling in their motor home. His most recent pastime was motoring around the village on his scooter with his beloved dog, Mitzy. Surviving are his children: Patrick and Barbara of Hardy, VA, Thierry and Sue of McAlpin, FL, Steven of Commerce, TX and Linda and Randy Nabors of Michie, TN; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Lewis Mitchell, who died in June of 1990. Calling hours will be on Friday, March 21st from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Massena.
