New Bremen – William H. "Bill" Jackson, 77, died on Thursday morning, October 26, 2017 , at Lewis County General Hospital , surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in Lowville on April 1, 1940 , a son of the late Harold Earl and Helen Katherine Meszaros Jackson. He attended Lowville Academy & Central School and married Donna L. Rennie, on September 29, 1956 , at the Parsonage of the Lowville Methodist Church , with Rev. John J. Kelly officiating. Bill was employed with the NYS DOT for 26 years.

The most important thing to Bill was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Donna, their five children: Bethany (Stephen) DeShane, William (Rita) Jackson, Kelly (Joseph) Peters, Steven ( Sharon ) Jackson and Gerald (Joy) Jackson; a brother, Donald (Sally) Jackson; a sister, Muriel (Robert) Lee; and two sisters-in-law, Sue Jackson and Joan Jackson; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, William "Bill" Turcotte, and eleven siblings.

Honoring Bill's wishes, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private graveside service for the family. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
