MARTINSBURG - Warren Marvin Nafziger, 82, of the Flat Rock Road, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at home under the care of Lewis County Hospice and his loving family. Mr. Nafziger was born August 7, 1933, in Martinsburg, the son of the late Menno and Marie (Jantzi) Nafziger. He attended rural school and Lowville Free Academy and was employed by various local fuel oil companies delivering fuel. After retiring from Louis Bush & Sons, he drove for Hoch Brothers, ARC and delivered flowers for Sunny Crest Flowers. On June 18, 1960, he married Elsie J. Moser at the Pine Grove Community Church with Rev. Leon Martin officiating. Surviving are his wife: Elsie (Moser) Nafziger; four children: Warren Alan of Lowville, Valerie Sue and Gregory Persons of Nassau (Albany), Gregory Lynn of Martinsburg and Darrin Joseph of East Greenbush; his sister, Shirley Steria of Lowville; two grandsons, Jakob and Christian; four granddaughters, Megan, Erin, Bailey and Anna along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Vernon and sister-in-law Maxine Nafzier and brother-in-law Wilbur Steria. Funeral services will be held on Friday October 2, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Croghan Mennonite Church with burial in the church cemetery following the service. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Thursday, October 1st from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M.
