Obituary

GLENFIELD - Mrs. Suzanne M. Stoffle, 71, died peacefully at her home on Thursday morning, February 3, 2011, with her loving family at her side.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lowville, on Saturday, February 5th at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery in the spring. At Suzanne's request, there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Sundquist Funeral Home.

Born on February 7, 1939, in Lowville, the daughter of the late Gilbert M. and Doris M. Bush Thisse, Suzanne graduated from Lowville Academy in 1957. She became the first member of her family to receive a college degree upon her graduation from Central City Business Institute in Syracuse. She later went on to open her own business which she named "Suzanne M. Stoffle and Associates" in Lowville, NY, which she operated until the time of her death.

Her hobbies included first and foremost taking loving care of her family, a former snowmobiler, enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and traveling. She traveled to Europe including Italy, France and Germany and also traveled to many islands in the Caribbean including Aruba, St. Martin, St. Lucia and especially these past few years, Grenada.

On October 18, 1958, she married George Patrick Stoffle at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lowville with Msgr. John Cotter officiating. The couple made their home in Glenfield where George later died in 1980.

Suzanne is survived by her four daughters and three sons-in-law: Tammy Stoffle of Glenfield, Patsy and Matt Matos of Marcy, Sally and Kevin Manning of Glenfield, Amelia and Matt Oblinski of Bloomville; her two sons and their wives: Andrew and Sue Stoffle of Glenfield and Jamie and Julie Stoffle of Lowville; her ten cherished grandchildren: Melinda, Jesse and Joshua Stoffle; Jay, Jolene and Jacqui Stoffle; Brianna, Anthony and Nicolette Manning and Kadence Elizabeth Oblinski. Also surviving Suzanne are five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Nicholas H. and Marion of Dover, MA and Number Four; Timothy E. of Parishville; Terrence J. and Minette of Martinsburg, twin brothers, Jerome A. and Connie of Glenfield and Jonathan H. and Lynn of Chases Lake and Susan Thisse of Martinsburg; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathleen A. Stevens of Lowville and Yvonne M. and Donald Knataitis of Naples, NY; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ehlers of Lyons Falls and MaryAnne and Tom O'Brien of Constableville and Ruth LaMont of Lowville and dozens of nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, George,

Suzanne was predeceased by two brothers: Michael G. Thisse and Patrick F. Thisse; brothers-in-law, Everett Stevens and Herbert Ehlers, Sr. and a nephew, Todd Michael Stevens. It was

Suzanne's request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: St. Jude's Hospital for Children; the Ronald McDonald House in Syracuse and/or Lewis County Hospice. Suzanne's children would like to thank their family and many friends of Suzanne; Dr. Alicia DeTraglia and her entire staff and the staff at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital in Utica, NY, for their dedication, encouragement, support and love.
