Stephen Jay Steria, 59, of Bend, Oregon died Tuesday, April 22, 2025 with family by his side.

Stephen was born February 21, 1966 in Watertown, N.Y. the son of the late Elmer J. and Grace Violet (Zehr) Steria. He attended Carthage Central School and is his senior year move with parents to San Diego, and graduated from Mission Bay H.S. in Pacific Beach, CA.

Stephen, the youngest of 11 siblings, is survived by Gary (Irene), Calvin, Roberta, Martha, Paul, and Elmer Jr.

He is predeceased by his three brothers, Carl, Herbert, Gabriel, his sister, Bonnie, and his is brother-in-laws, James Dexter, Jack Rodgers, and sister-in-law Mary Ellen Montgomery.

Stephen had many careers working and interests on the Apache Helicopter Project, construction, asbestos abatement, landscaping, and his Maple Syrup Cotton Candy stand he operated at community weekend events in Central, OR, and his love for nature.

Stephen was an eye donor to Vision Gifts.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Croghan Mennonite Cemetery on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:00am.
