LOWVILLE - Shirley A. Parker, 79, died late Sunday, July 27, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center of Syracuse. Shirley was formerly of Cascade Avenue and most recently a resident of Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility. Mrs. Parker was born July 1, 1935, in Ellenburg. She was the daughter of the late Norman F. and Mildred (Trombley) Prue and graduated from Lowville Academy. On September 5, 1953, she married Kenneth G. Parker at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Her husband, Kenneth died on June 23, 1994. Shirley was employed by AMF Manufacturing, retiring after 35 years of employment. After retirement Shirley worked at the Lowville McDonalds for several years. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church; a life member and very active in the Lowville American Legion Auxiliary Post #162, the Lowville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa A. Parker and her companion Shari A. Wing of Cape Vincent; her son, Edward Parker, Albuquerque, NM; her brother, Gerald and his wife Angel of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Shirley was predeceased by her two brothers John and James Prue. A Mass of Christian burial will be said on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in New Bremen Rural Cemetery. Calling hours for family and friends will be on Thursday, July 31st from 5-8 P.M at the Sundquist Funeral Home.
