LOWVILLE – Rosalee H. Boissy, 83, died peacfully in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 13, 2016, at her home under the care of her daughters and Lewis County Hospice.
Born in Kingston, NY on July 1, 1933, to LeGrand and Rowena Pratt Haviland, Rosalee attended Oakwood School in Poughkeepsie and Katharine Gibbs School in NYC. She was married to Joseph Philip Boissy on September 6, 1952, in Highland, NY. Rosalee was employed by BOCES. Mr. Boissy, who was President of Payne-Jones in Lowville, passed away on September 14, 1998.
Rosalee was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Tug Hill Quilters. Rosalee was an avid gardner and reader but her true passions and talents were with her needlework – knitting, applique and quilting. Those gifts will be cherished forever.
Surviving are her three daughters, Leslee Boissy, Amy and James Penn and Barbara Boissy; grandchildren, Alyssa Penn, Sara Acheson, Megan Penn, Ian Rowand and McKenzie Rowand.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Herb Swanson officiating. Callings hours for family and friends will be at the Sundquist Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m.
