GLENFIELD – Robert J. Hayes, 67, died on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.

Robert was born on May 10, 1950 in Lowville the son of the Walter G. and Vivian M. Loson Hayes, Jr. He attended school in Holland Patent and served in the U.S. Army. He went to work for Payne Jones where he was a machine operator and retired from Rexam as a Number 11 Coder.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing and just relaxing in the woods. He was a past member of Greig Fish and Game Club.

He is survived by his three sons, Shawn C. (Ellen A.) Hayes; Shane M. (Aimee) Hayes; and Shaughnessy Hayes; his mother Vivian; his grandchildren, Emma, Hunter, Chaselyn, Wyatt, and Dekota; his brother, William J. (Linda) Hayes; and his sister, Janette Peek; and nephews.

He is predeceased by his father, Walter, and brother-in-law, John Peek.

A calling hour will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Daniel Tabolt of the Abundant Life Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be on Friday, May 4th at 3:30 P.M. at Brantingham Cemetery .
