IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert P.
Antonius
February 12, 1939 – January 6, 2025
LOWVILLE – Robert P. Antonius, 85, of the Markowski Homestead, died early Monday evening, January 6th, 2025 at Lewis County General Hospital with family by his side.
Robert was born on February 12, 1939, in Quincy, Massachusetts, the son of late Alfred and Mary (George) Antonius. Robert was always a hard worker and loved to seek different adventures for work. He was a police officer, a bartender at the famous "Top of the Mark" in San Francisco. He had his own real estate and loan officer business on the West coast of California. He was highly successful and someone you could always learn from.
He was survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Janet Rose (Markowski) Antonius. His children Denice Antonius, Michael Antonius, Daniel and (Jessie) Antonius, Brittany Antonius and (Bobby Shue), and his grandchildren that he loved so much, Lilly, Nicolas, Harris, Emma, Tyler, Nicole, Tabitha, and Taylor; his sister Diane, her daughter Stephanie; and his cats Kayah and Baby. He is predeceased by his two children, Nicky, and Debbie, and his nine siblings.
He was proud of his Lebanese culture and enjoyed his homemade Arabic dinners, "Food for the gods" he would always say. He enjoyed ocean fishing, deep sea abalone diving, bird watching on the sun porch with Brittany, playing cards and going to the casino.
He was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church and member of the Lowville Elk's Lodge #1605.
He had a spark that was unforgettable and drew everyone in. He was made of laughter, kindness, and a little mischief. No man is indispensable, but some are irreplaceable.
"I want to go back to the sea where the fishes were so good to me." – Robert Antonius
