LOWVILLE - Our mother Phyllis Ruby Davis left this world to be with her beloved husband Donald Charles Davis on Sunday afternoon January 1st at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility. Phyllis was born January 22, 1921 in Lowville, the daughter of Raymond and Pearl Rowsam. She graduated from Lowville Academy . Phyllis was united in marriage to Donald C. Davis on
August 28, 1938 .
During World War II she drove a 2.5 ton Army truck on Camp Drum . Later she operated "Phyl's Beauty Shop" for many years before going back for Nurses Aid training. She started at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility on their opening day of operations. She eventually transferred into the Activities Department where she eventually retired.
She is survived by her daughters Carole A. Butcher, The Villages, FL, Cynthia E. Davis, Lowville , NY and her son Jeffrey D. Davis, Cazenovia , NY . Grand children Dawn Schilling The Villages FL, Keagen Davis, Springfield , MA and Leaha Davis Wilson, Champaign , IL . and several great- great grand children.
She was predeceased by her Husband Donald Davis 1994 and brothers Kennith and Bernard "Bing" Rowsam.
There will be no calling hours. There will be a private spring burial in the Beaches Bridge Cemetery .
The Davis family would like to extend their gratitude and sincere thanks to the entire 3rd floor staff at the Lewis County Health Care Facility for the care and compassion they gave our Mother Phyllis. God Bless and Thank You all so much.
