GLENFIELD - A Funeral mass for Phyllis D. Cummings will be said on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, pastor officiating. Visitation will not be observed. Born in St. Charles, Illinois on October 22, 1944 the daughter of the late Phillip and Mary Challman DeBruyne where she attended Mount St. Mary Academy and graduated in 1962 as Valedictorian. Phyllis graduated from Northwestern University in 1966, with a BA in English. . Phyllis owned and operated Trinity Financial Service, Inc., a Group Health Insurance and Income Tax service in Sarasota, Florida retiring in 1996. Phyllis and Richard C. Cummings were married at Stillwater Reservoir January 1, 2006. She is survived by her husband Richard and her stepchildren, Dean and Julie Cummings, Lowville; and Steven Cummings, Greig; Jennifer and Herb Condrey, Watertown; Julie Cummings and Dorian and Jon Eyles, all of Cape Vincent; her grandchildren, Brix Condrey, Quinn Cummings, Avery Cummings, Kerrigan Wiley, Brayden Wiley, Kali Eyles, Ashlyn Eyles, her honorary grandchildren, Kate Root and Hannah Root; her brothers and their spouses, P. David and Nan K DeBruyne, Bluffton, SC; D. Peter and Janet B. DeBruyne, Rockford IL; her "Almost" sister, Margaret E. Brizzolara, Batavia, IL; nephews, Daniel T. DeBruyne, Plantation, FL; Kevin C. DeBruyne, Haymarket, VA;Timothy J. DeBruyne, Barrington, IL; Andrew P. DeBruyne, Seattle, WA; nieces,Katie M.D. Brunick, Oak Park, IL; Ashley D. Zupan, Bainbridge Island, WA; and16 great nephews and nieces. Her many hobbies include, hunting, back gammon, words with friends, cooking, entertaining, fishing, knitting/sewing, gardening, and spending peaceful days reading by the fire with her husband and dogs. Memorials in Phyllis's name are requested to be made by local residents by donating blood to the Blood Bank at the Lowville VFW (April 23RD, June 19th and Aug. 15th) and by others at their local sites. Other donations are requested to be made either to Lewis County General Hospital Foundation or to Lewis County Search and Rescue.
