MARTINSBURG - Paul Cross, Calling hours for family and friends will be on Friday, February 9th from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Sundquist Funeral Home.

A Memorial service will be on Saturday, February 10th at 10:30am at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene. All are welcome to a luncheon at the church hall immediately following the service.

Spring burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery.

Paul Cross, 65, of Martinsburg, went to his heavenly home unexpectedly on December 8th, 2023.

Paul was born in Bismarck, ND on August 8th, 1958, and spent most of his childhood in Montana. He graduated from Harlem High School and later from Montana State University with a degree in electrical engineering.

In 1980, while working as a counselor at a Christian camp in Maine, Paul met a beautiful young lady named Colette Joan Quinn. They fell in love and married on September 5th, 1981, in a blueberry field in Gray, Maine. After several years of infertility, the Lord answered Paul and Colette's prayers by sending the first of seven blessings.

Paul moved his family to Lewis County in 1991 when he took a job with a papermill in Beaver Falls. He transitioned into working as an independent automation and process control consultant for many local factories, including, most recently, Alkegen, AMF, Neenah Paper, and North American Tapes, Omnia Materials. Known for his intelligence, mathematical skills, and computer expertise, Paul enjoyed problem-solving and collaborating on projects. He developed friendships wherever he worked.

Paul was raised in a Christian home and committed his life to Jesus in college. Paul and Colette became Bethel Church of the Nazarene members shortly after moving to Lowville. Paul believed wholeheartedly in God's grace and mercy. He was passionate about both local and overseas missionary work, generously giving his time, talent, and resources, including Loving Lewis County.

A lifelong learner, Paul was always eager to share about books he was reading, natural medicine, health hacks, or programming projects at length with anyone who would listen, whether or not his audience fully understood the details. He was also a very interested and engaged listener in subjects of interest to his family members and friends.

Paul cared most about the people in his life and their accomplishments. He loved bragging about his wife and children and their talents and telling stories of funny and sometimes embarrassing family memories.

Paul was predeceased by his parents, youngest brother Timothy, and sister Shairl. He is survived by his wife, Colette, brothers Wayne and Philip, and children Paulette, David (Hillary), Briana, Josiah, Elijah, Noah, and Jonathan, and grandchildren Jeremiah, Gideon, Abigail, Jubilee, Eliza, Tobias and Reuben.
