LOWVILLE - Norma K. Miller, 87, formerly of Watson, died Sunday afternoon,
January 24, 2016
at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility with her family at her side.
She was born
June 10, 1928
in
Syracuse
, the daughter of the late Jacob P. and Delia M. (Bloodgood) Kratz. Norma graduated from
Oswego
State
University
with Bachelors in Education in 1949. Norma was united in marriage with Carl G. Miller on
March 7, 1953
at
Mt.
Taber
Lutheran
Church
in
Syracuse
. Carl Miller died on
February 23, 1997
.
Mrs. Miller taught school first in
Gloversville
and then in
Liverpool
when the couple moved to Watson in 1962. Norma and Carl bought Henry and Alice Saunders General Store in 1962, which became Miller's Meat Market. She was active in the business making her own salads, donuts, and started a bakery. They sold the store to their son Daniel in 1978. She returned to teaching for her church at the
Bible
Baptist
Christian
School
.
She is survived by six children and their spouses, Daniel and Charlene of Watson; Elaine and Rodney Cannan of Glenfield; Joan and John Bruno of Pittsburgh, PA; Stephen and Nok of Gig Harbor, WA; Anne and Randy Newell of Glenfield; Janiece and Brian Paap of Warrenton, VA; 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, her brother David Kratz of Syracuse. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Carol Baldwin and Dorine Watson.

Norma was a past member of the
Lowville
Bible
Baptist
Church
, she loved to fish, was an avid reader, and cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and family.
