LOWVILLE - Mildred R. Russell, 58, passed away on August 29, 2011, at Lewis County General Hospital. Born on November 24, 1952, in Utica, a daughter of the late James A. Russell, Sr. and Leila M. Devine Russell, Mildred graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also raised and cared for her parrots. A funeral mass will be said at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Christopher Carrara, pastor officiating. Burial will follow at the Lowville Rural Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the Sundquist Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's name to: The Lewis County General Hospital Foundation, 7785 N. Russell and his finance, Melissa Randall of Lowville; her brothers: James A. of Port Leyden, Edward M. of Enfield, CT, Jay W. and George H. Russell both of Lowville and her sisters: Joyce Cabral of Utica, Olive Champigney of Enfield, CT, Rosalind Delles of Lowville and Joan Lawson of Enfield, CT. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Kwickliss, all the nurses in the ICU and both the third floor nursing home staff and east wing staff for their care and help of their mother and sister.
