GLENFIELD - Michael Brian LaPlante, 37, of the Baldwin Road, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Michael was born in Lowville on March 20, 1974, a son of Charles J. and Kimberly A. Davis LaPlante and graduated from Beaver River Central School in 1993. At the time of his death, Michael was doing tree service work with his friend, Ben Damuth who introduced him to pulling teams of horses, a hobby that he truly loved. Michael traveled throughout the United States including Alaska, Georgia and the Florida Keys and also enjoyed riding his Harley any chance he could get. He also loved spending time with his family, especially Uncle Crandall "Frenchie" and his many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon, June 21, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired minister officiating. Burial will follow in the Sperryville Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Sundquist Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in Michael's name to one's choice. Surviving Michael are his father and step-mother, Charles J. and Cheryl LaPlante of Carthage; his mother and step-father, Kimberly and Jewel "Bucky" Dosztan of Glenfield; his companion, Lori Cobb and children, Garrett and Brooklyn; two sisters, Becky and Tom Randall of Constableville and Jan and Brian Griffith of Boonville; six brothers, Jed and Janice Dosztan of Boonville, David, Dane, Chase and Drew LaPlante all of Carthage, and Crandall and Lee LaPlante of Lowville and many Aunts, Uncles and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Herb and Alma Davis, and Crandall and Ann LaPlante, a sister, Jewelie Dosztan.
