Obituary

COPENHAGEN - Maxine M. Moser, 84, died early Thursday morning, June 20, 2019 at her home under the care of her care givers, family and Lewis County Hospice.

Mrs. Moser was born on May 9, 1935 in Beaver Falls the daughter of the late Christian and Martha Moser Zehr. Maxine attended Beaver River School. She married Elton J. Moser on May 12, 1953 at Croghan Mennonite Church with Rev. Lloyd Boshart officiating. Maxine and Elton made their home on the Number Three Road, Copenhagen, where they owned and operated a dairy farm. Maxine was a homemaker and a mother to her children and their families. She is predeceased by her husband Elton, who died on Friday, June 26, 2015.

She is survived by her seven children, Lyndon and Patti, Gary E., Wendell and Kay, Dean and Donna, Gene R., Kenton and Nancy, and Patricia M. Moser all of Copenhagen; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Donald P. (Jean) Zehr of Lititz, PA; Levi C.(Florence) Zehr of Castorland; her sisters, Pauline Zehr; Marie and (David) Yousey all of Castorland; and Lucille Zehr of Mercer Island, WA; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Moser is predeceased by her brother, Floyd (Laura) Zehr, her sisters, Luella (Alvin) Martin, Edith Zehr, and Eunice Jantzi.

Mrs. Moser was a member of the Naumburg Mennonite Church where she was a long time Sunday school teacher and sang with the ladies sextet. Maxine loved spending time with her family, she enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, reading and singing.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Naumburg Mennonite Church, Rev. Titus Mast, Pastor and Rev. Myron Roggie officiating. Burial will be in Naumburg Mennonite Cemetery on Tuesday, June 25th at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours for family and friends will be Monday, June 24 th at the church from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 P.M.
