.
Mary Lou was born in Lowville on July 11, 1960 the daughter of the late Stanley E. and Gene E. (Sprague) Vantran, where she graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School . She worked with her father after high school for a short period before becoming a nurse's aide at Lewis County General Hospital . She also worked at a nearby adult home, before briefly attending Paul Smith's culinary arts program.
She was a member of the Lowville United Methodist Church , and the First United Methodist Church in Watertown where she resided later in life. She appreciated the opportunity to travel as a youth with the Girl Scouts, and later as an adult on a trip to Holland to visit friends there. She enjoyed crocheting and puzzles, but she truly loved flowers & cooking for herself and others.
Mary Lou is gratefully remembered for her kindness to all who knew her by her surviving brother and sister-in-law, John and Kimberly Vantran, and her four nephews: Ben, Luke, Matt, and Jack Vantran, all of Parkton , MD.
