LOWVILLE - Mary Ostrowski Leviker, 93, died early Monday morning January 21, 2013 at Lewis County General Hospital. Mary was born August 25, 1919 at Rectors Corners in the town of Montague, a daughter of the late Leon and Nellie Kandefer Ostrowski. She attended Rectors Corners Country School. She married Robert W. Leviker on August 30 1941 at St. Peter's Church with Msgr. George Murray officiating. Robert died on July 2, 1975. Surviving are three sons, Richard (Patricia); Charles; and Michael (Carol); all of Lowville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a sister Victoria T. (Barry) Conway, Syracuse; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Henry, Walter, John and Joseph Ostrowski; two sisters Sophie McCanney and Pauline Stinebrink, and a grandson Shawn Michael Leviker. Mary was communicant of St. Peter's Church and a life time member of Lowville VFW and Lowville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and member of the Polish American Club. She did domestic work for a number of years in the village of Lowville, loved Polish dancing especially the oberek, enjoyed doing her Jumble puzzles, and sitting on her front porch. She was very dedicated to her family. A funeral mass will be said on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, pastor officiating. Spring burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 23rd from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home where the Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 V.F.W. Auxiliary will conduct a service at 5:00 P.M.
