Marget's memorial service will be held at Trinity Church, Lowville on Saturday, March 3rd at 11:00 A.M.
Marget died peacefully at home Wednesday, February 14 surrounded by family after suffering a stroke on Friday, February 9.
Marget was born on Staten Island, NY July 16, 1923 the youngest child of Susan & George Stewart. She grew up on both Staten Island, NY and in Rothesay, Scotland. Her employment included working in New York City for the British Ministry of War during WWII and also Uniforms by Ostwald on Staten Island, NY.
Marget married James Richard Davey in 1944, they had nine children together. The family moved permanently to Lowville NY in 1963. In addition to raising her children, over the years Marget held several jobs including part-time secretary for Trinity Church, Lowville; Mihalyi Real Estate, and she retired from Lewis County Family Court as the Chief Clerk in September 1990.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters along with their spouses: Stewart R. (Kelly) Goose Bay, NY; James R "Hamish" Jr. (Eloise) Lowville, NY; Bruce's wife Elaine, Richmond, IL; Derek M., Lowville, NY; Christopher H., Breckenridge, CO, and Sloane D. (Chris) Andover, MA; Felicity A. (Nick) Thendara, NY; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Marget was active in Lowville Current Topics, Lewis County Hospital Auxiliary Bridge Club, Lowville Free Library, Constable Hall, and Lewis County Historical Society. She also enjoyed golf, bridge, travel and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her siblings, Eelin Stewart Harrison, James Stewart, and Mary Stewart McPhee.; and her children Fredrick "Bop", Pamela, Bruce, her daughter in-law Lorene and her grandson Seamus.
Memorial contributions in Marget's honor may be made to Lewis County Historical Society or Lowville Free Library.
