CARTHAGE - Luther E. Kaler, 89, formerly of Hogsback Road, Harrisville, died Saturday evening, March 15, 2025 at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Luther was born July 10, 1935 in Lowville the son of the late Roy D. and Grace Mae (Davis) Kaler. He attended rural school before entering the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged 1954. He married Beatrice M. Morrison on March 9, 1956 at the Church of the Nazarene Parsonage on Jackson Street in Lowville with Rev. George Douglas, officiating. She died on June 22, 2011.
When he was younger he worked at the heifer lot on the Lomber and Tillman Roads, and for the town of Croghan.
He is survived by his three children, Pauline Thomas of Harrisville; Donald and Catherine Kaler of Mauk, Georgia; and David and Terry Kaler of Monett, MO; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his two daughters, Shirley Hosmer and Laura J. Kloster, a great granddaughter, Gillian Alberson, a son-in-law, Blaine E. Thomas, and his sister, Ethel M. Main and brother, Robert D. Kaler.
