CROGHAN - Lois Esther Moshier, 71, of the Indian River Road, St. Rte. 812, died Sunday evening, July 5, 2015 at her home under the care of her family. She was born in Lowville on November 6, 1943 the daughter of the late Erwin R. and Esther B. Zehr Moshier. Lois attended school at Beaver River Central School and graduated from JCC with an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts and Associate's Degree in Human Services. She was a nurse assistant at Lewis County Residential Heath Care Facility, and retired from Lewis County Mental Health as a case manager aide. Lois was a member of the Croghan Mennonite Church, and past president of the "Nimble Fingers" sewing circle. She loved gardening, flowers, crafts and being the family seamstress, and she enjoyed spending time with her siblings children and grandchildren. Her greatest gift was care giving "to her immediate family". Surviving are her siblings, Mary Moshier, and Susanna Moshier both of Croghan; Samuel and Susan Moshier of Randolph, NJ; Mark and Dawn Moshier of Castorland; Kathy and Greg Leichty of Louisville, KY; Carol Moshier of Ogdensburg; James and Karen Moshier of Castorland; her brother-in-law, Herbert Gascho of Castorland; her aunt, Mildred Moshier, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and great and great-great nieces and nephews. Lois is predeceased by her sister Priscilla Gascho. A memorial service will be on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Croghan Mennonite Church with Rev. Paul Mast and Rev. Bruce Roggie officiating. A private family burial will be in the Croghan Mennonite Cemetery.
