LOWVILLE – Keith H. Gary, 81, died on Saturday evening, January 18, 2025 at his home.
Keith was born on October 27, 1943 in Auburn, the son of the late Horace and Isobel G. (Keysor) Gary. He graduated from Cato-Meridian Central School where after graduation he served in the Army National Guard from 1964 until 1970 when he was honorably discharged. Keith started working for Niagara Mohawk as a lineman and retired in 1999 as a traveling operator. After retirement, he worked for Glenfield BOCES delivering mail and books to surrounding schools in the area.
Keith is survived by sisters, Nancy Adams of Weedsport, NY, Virginia Lamphier of NC and Vicky Carter of Satellite Beach, FL. Longtime companion Betty Ladue, daughter, Christina M. Bown; his stepdaughters, Carol A. Hoyt (Shawn Rebb) and Jo-Ann R. Walters (Jason Walters), seven grandchildren, Kacie Robinson, Kelcie Desormo, Lacie Robinson, Jacob Hoyt, Joshua Hoyt, Justin Hoyt, and Jenna Walters. Keith also had 6 great grandchildren.
Keith loved traveling. He and his best friend, Betty traveled the whole US and to other countries together and loved to take long drives around NY, especially taking time to enjoy the history and beautiful scenery. Keith would always make sure he was home in time to catch the Yankees game and loved the NY Giants and Buffalo Bills.
Per Keith's wishes, there will be no callings hours or services. Keith was always thinking of others and his gift was to SUNY Upstate Medical University Anatomical Gift program for future physicians.
A special thank you to Joseph Beagle, a close friend and neighbor, the Lewis County Search and Rescue and Lowville Police Department who arrived at the scene and worked diligently to help him.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the America Red Cross.
