LOWVILLE - Kay Lorraine Widrick, 72, a resident of Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility died on

Center
.
Mrs. Widrick was born on
August 1, 1946
in Lowville the daughter of the late Weston and Theo (Ward) Schmitt. Kay graduated from
Lowville
Academy
and
Central
School
in 1964 and from the BOCES Certified Nurses A
ssistant
program. Mrs. Widrick was a member of the
Lowville
United
Methodist
Church
where she married Frederick Christian Widrick, Sr. on
June 12, 1965
with Rev. Kenneth Lord, Pastor officiating. Kay and Fred owned and operated a dairy farm in
Deer
River
. Fred died on
December 28, 1984
.
She retired from Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility in 2001. Kay was a sport enthusiast, enjoyed following, watching and remembering stats of her favorite baseball team the Boston Red Sox. Kay also enjoyed watching football, and playing Bingo. Kay was a life member of Lewis County Memorial Post # 6912 V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Surviving are her four children, Lisa A. Widrick of Lowville; Lorraine A. (Jon) Burleigh of Tucson, AZ; Lynnette M. Widrick and her companion Derrick Kellison of Massena; and Frederick C. Widrick, Jr. of Utica; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Mackenzie, Joseph and Natalie, eight great grandchildren, and one on the way. Kay's sisters, Delores Raymond of Watertown; Leona Ortlieb of Martinsburg; her brothers, Bruce (Sally) Schmitt of Turin; Gary (Valerie) Schmitt of Croghan; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and Kay's Widrick family.
She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Kyla Marie Widrick; her two brothers-in-law, Donald Raymond and Thomas Ortlieb.
Her funeral service will be on
Tuesday, October 9, 2018
at
10:00 A.M.
at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. James Trainham, officiating. Burial will be in
Martinsburg

. Calling hours for family and friends will be on Monday, October 8th, from 2 to 4 and

to
9:00 P.M.
, where the V.F.W. Auxiliary will conduct a service at
