Obituary

LOWVILLE - Kathleen S. Haigh 91, joined her savior early Christmas morning while at Sunset Nursing Home.
Kay was born July 13, 1925 in Rochester NY. She was the youngest of five siblings raised by a widowed and blind mother. Employed by Eastman-Kodak during WWII, moved to Washington DC working for AAA where she met and married James R. Haigh Sept.29, 1949. They moved to Groton CT in 1966, where Kay was employed by Hartford National Bank.
She earned her bachelor's degree in special ed from UCONN 1972 and taught at UCP's Little White Schoolhouse. Kay sang with Eastern CT Symphony Chorus and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Groton. After the death of husband Bob in 1988, she retired and re-located to Lowville NY.
Continuing her public service, Kay served on Lewis Co. citizen patrol, delivered meals-on-wheels, was Program Director of Lewis Co. literacy volunteers, and an active member of Lowville Baptist Church.
Kay is survived by her three children: Jeffrey A. Haigh of Ladenburg Germany, Janet L.Haigh of Waterford CT, Russell E. Haigh of Croghan NY, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
