LOWVILLE - Joseph Matthew Griffin, 37, passed away late Thursday morning, January 2, 2025 with his family by his side at Carthage Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing where he has been residing.

Joe was born on April 15, 1987 in Raleigh, NC the son of James Michael "Jim" and Lisa May (Munger) Griffin. He graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School, the Class of 2007 where he started varsity wrestling for Coach Aubel in 7th grade. Joe was employed at Kraft-Heinz in Lowville.

Surviving are his parents, his father, Jim; his mother, Lisa (Henry Bair); his two brothers, Jasyn M. Griffin and Erik J. Griffin; his nephew, Chayse Griffin; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joe is predeceased by his sisters, Karen Suzanne Griffin and Ruby Ann Griffin.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying four wheeling, hunting, swimming, and loved getting together with family. He followed the NY Giants and Yankees. He supported his nephew Chayse and Joe's family and friends were very important to him.

Joe was a member of Lowville B.P.O.E. Lodge #1605, and Lowville American Legion Post #162.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at the Lowville Elks on Friday, January 10th at 5:00pm. Food donations may be dropped off anytime after 1:00pm on Friday. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
