WATSON - John B. Allen, 76, of the Number Four Road, passed away on Sunday morning, February 24, 2013, at the Lewis County General Hospital. John was born on January 4, 1937, in Rochester, NY, a son of the late John and Carol Allen and after graduation he served in the United States Army. He married Rooney W. Akers-Pink in Rochester and was extremely proud to have built their log home near Lowville. John retired as supervisor of specialty printing from the Thompson Professional Publishing in Webster. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed bird watching, gardening and doing a little hunting and fishing but his specialty was cooking. John is survived by his wife, Rooney; their children: Jeannine and Bob DeRoo, David and Dianne Pink, Norman and Sue Pink, Sally and Louie Rosilio, Bobby Pink and Judy and Tom Morgott; his brother Richard Allen; sister Gratia and Bob Phromm; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. David Shivers officiating. Burial in the Petries Corners Cemetery will be in the spring. The public is invited to call on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
