LOWVILLE – Jennifer Joy Nortz, 39, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2017, at Upstate Medical University.

Jennifer was born on January 27, 1978, in Lowville to Henry and Cynthia Edick Nortz and graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School in 1996.  She also attended Jefferson Community College.  She previously worked as a recreational aide for the Disabled Person Action Organization in Watertown.

Jennifer was an animal lover who especially loved cats. She often volunteered at animal rescue sites while living in Arkansas.  She was a great supporter of Countryside Veterinary Clinic in Lowville and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

Surviving are her parents; her sister, Kristina Woods and husband, Keith and her favorite nephews, Tyler and Ryan Brown; also her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Lucy Nortz and maternal grandparents, Donald and June Edick and aunts, uncles and cousins, and her beloved cat "Baby". She is predeceased by her aunt, Bonnie L. Cobb.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September, 4th at 11:00 A.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. David Herrmann, Pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be private.  There will be no calling hours.
