LOWVILLE - Howard B. Rich, 89, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica. Howard was born in Watertown on May 5, 1925, the son of the late Henry C. and Nina Bingham Rich. He was a graduate of Lowville Academy, St. Lawrence University and Albany College of Pharmacy and was a pharmacist for Schering-Plough in Caldwell, NJ for 28 years. Howard proudly served with the United States Navy during WWII. Howard was married to Madeline Moore on May 1, 1951, at her parents' home on Park Avenue in Lowville with the Rev. O.T. Anderson, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. She passed away on October 3, 1978. Howard lived for a time at Brantingham prior to moving to Brookside Senior Living Center in Lowville and for the past year resided at the Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lowville. Surviving Mr. Rich are his son, Yale M.; two granddaughters, Rivajoy Rich and Chelsea Rich and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Louise Archer and Dorothy Doyle. Per Mr. Rich's wishes, a private burial will take place at the Brantingham Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
