LOWVILLE - Gloria Ann Davis, 73, died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Albany Medical Center Gloria was born in Ellenburg, NY on March 27, 1941, to Wendell and Dorothy Secore Kent, graduated from Massena Central High and attended college in Albany. She was married to Carroll R. Davis on June 17, 1961, at the First Methodist Church in Massena with Rev. Robert U. Holmes, officiating. The couple moved to Lowville where they raised their family and together joined the Methodist Church. Gloria became a lay minister, sang in the choir and was very active volunteering her time at church. She was also a monitor at Lowville Academy and a member of the Tug Hill Quilters and loved to work in her garden. She was an exceptionally talented seamstress who enjoyed making clothes for her family and friends. Surviving are her three daughters, Dorothy Moellenhoff and her husband Alan of Loveland, CO; Patricia Davis of Boonville; Rebecca Palladino and her husband Lewis of Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Erica and her husband Mathew, Lewis III, Krista, Collin, Reece, Alexandra, Gillian, three great grandchildren, Kaylyn and Layla and Zoey and her sister, Glenda Kent. Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. Beth O'Neil, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Martinsburg Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 8th from 6-8 p.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to: Team ALPHA of the 2014 Relay for Life Lewis County or to the Lowville United Methodist Church.
