LOWVILLE – Donna Mae Turck, 69, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, February 22nd, from 1:00 to 4:00pm, at Lowville Mennonite Church, followed by a service at 4:00pm. All are welcome to the Lowville Firehall following the services for a dinner. Any food donations or covered dish to pass may be left off after 3:00pm at the fire hall on Thursday.
Donna was born in Lowville on July 31, 1954 the daughter of the late Paul R. and Phyllis Diane Widrick Jantzi. She graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School, the Class of 1972, and graduated from BOCES with a Licensed Practical Nurse certificate. Donna married Robert H. West in June of 1972, their marriage later ended in divorce. Donna retired from Lewis County General Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2009.
Donna married the love of her life, Ritchie J. Turck on July 31, 2012 with Justice of the Peace Mayor Donna Smith officiating. The couple made their home in Lowville.
She is survived by her husband, Ritchie, her three children, Rob West and Amanda Sullivan; Andrea and Greg Snyder; Susie Sprowl and David Fleming; step sons, Corey Turck and Christopher Turck; her nine grandchildren, Alexis and Robbie Talbot, Jarad and Emily West, Zackery Snyder, Ashlee and Tyler Halladay, Hunter West, Ryan Sprowl, John and Brandylynn Snyder, Austin West, Calynn West; her seven great grandchildren, Aryel, Kaelynn, Jake, Rylee, Hudson, Cooper, and Carson; her siblings, Paul and Ruth Jantzi; Florence and Rick Breglia; Ellen and Barry Waite; Sundena and Lee Cobb; Peter and Roberta Jantzi; Trinda Hayes; Timothy and Kelly Jantzi; several nieces and nephews and cousins; and her Turck family.
She is predeceased by her brother-in-law, Ron Hayes and her nephew, Aaron G. Jantzi.
Donna was a member of Lowville American Legion Post #162 Auxiliary, Martinsburg Fire Department Auxiliary and later Lowville Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed Thursday and Friday night bowling league at Lewis Lanes and later Wednesday afternoon Seniors Bowling League, she enjoyed reading, playing card games and especially having time with her family!
