Obituary

GLENFIELD - Donald Robert Hanno, 54, of the town of Watson, died unexpectedly with his family and friends by his side Sunday, July 26, 2015.

"Donny" was born in Lowville, on August 31, 1960, a son of Robert N. and Margaret N. (Roggie) Hanno. After graduating from Lowville Academy in 1978, he entered the U.S. Navy where he served as an Electronic Equipment Repairman on USS Norton Sound. On July 25, 1987, he was married to Patricia A. Overton at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lowville with Msgr. Bernard Christman, officiating. Don was employed by Dekatherm, Inc. as a pipe-fitter and had recently been promoted foreman.

He loved his kids and grandkids and to make everyone laugh. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a member of the USS Norton Sound Association.

He is survived by his wife, Patty, his daughters, Kristin D. and Tim Larkin Jr. of Adams Center and Heather L. and Derek Swartzel of Lowville; two sons, Christopher D. Hanno of Lowville and Michael N. Hanno of Glenfield; his mother Margaret N.; three sisters and a brother, Dawn M. and Dennis Szalach of West Leyden; Eileen G. and John Faaseen of Charlotte, NC; Mary M. and Daniel Widrick of Castorland; Andrew J. and Margaret Hanno of Lowville; a sister-in-law, Pati Jo Hanno of Charlotte, NC and three grandchildren Jonas H. Larkin, Nora E. Larkin and Madelyn E. Rennie.

Don was predeceased by his father, Robert N. Hanno, his brother, John N. Hanno and sister-in-law, Tammy M. Hanno.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Keith Hardy, Pastor officiating. Military burial will follow in the Lowville Rural Cemetery .

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 29th from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home and prior to the funeral on Thursday morning at the church from 9:00 – 10:00A.M. Memorials in Donny's name may be made to donor's choice.
