Denise J. Dufault

LOWVILLE - Denise J. Dufault, 91, died on Monday April 23, 2018 under the care of Highlands Living Center, Pittsford NY.  Born October 24, 1926, in Quebec City, Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Eugenie and Edmond LaPorte.  Denise lived and grew up in Montreal.

On May 11, 1946, Denise married Emmanuel J. Dufault, who predeceased her in June, 2008.  They moved to Toronto, where she devoted her life to raising their five children. During the 1960"s, the couple moved to Rochester NY and later made their home in Glenfield, NY.

Denise enjoyed knitting, bowling, golfing, skiing, dancing and traveling. She volunteered for numerous charitable agencies including Rochester Hospitals, Lowville Food Pantry and Thrift Store.  Denise was always giving to others.

She is survived by daughters : Michele McIsaac (John) of Toronto , Lynn Thisse(Jonathan) of Glenfield NY, and sons: Paul Dufault(Dorthy) of Rochester NY, Marc Dufault(Laura) of Haines City, Fl. and son-in-law Peter van der Voort of Kingston Ontario, brother-in-law Robert Hebert of Montreal : eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Denise is predeceased by her daughter Carol van der Voort (Aug. 2010), daughter-in-law, Theresa Dufault (Feb., 2012), brother Edmond LaPorte, sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Terry Newcomen, sister, Lucille Hebert, brother/sister-in-law Kenneth and Clarise Dufault.

A funeral mass will be said on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Jay Seymour, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery.
