LOWVILLE - Delilah M. Mahoney, 86, died Wednesday afternoon, February 26, 2025 at Lewis County General Hospital with her family and friends at her side.
Delilah was born on May 11, 1938 in Lowville the daughter of the late William M. and Delila Mae (Manzer) Mahoney. She graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School. She lived in Syracuse when she started her banking career in 1959. In Lowville she worked for National Bank and retired from Key Bank as a Loan Officer with forty years of service. During her career she graduated from JCC with an Associates Degree.
She was devoted to her family and was a loving caretaker to many of them in their time of need. Ila treated her nieces and nephews as her own, giving them many memorable adventures.
Delilah is predeceased by her two sisters, Carmeletta W. (Dr. Robert) Lormore and Kathleen A. (Donald) Dening, her three brothers, John J. Mahoney, Thomas A. (Gertrude) Mahoney, and William D. (Julia) Mahoney.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Delilah was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
A graveside service will be held at Lowville Rural Cemetery in the spring.
