Obituary

LOWVILE - Deborah Ann Smith, otherwise known as "Brat", 59, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 10, 2015, at her home on Cedar Street. Debbie was born on October 11, 1955, the daughter of the late Earl and Louise Hina Smith of Lowville. She was a graduate of Beaver River Central School with the class of 1976. Debbie worked cleaning school busses at Lowville Academy in the 1980's and was a Medicaid driver in Lewis County. She found satisfaction in helping the elderly with meals, cleaning and shopping. She was an avid key chain and stuffed animal collector. She loved wearing a hat and was truly a people person and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Lewis County Memorial Post #6912 Auxiliary V.F.W. Debbie is survived by a brother Earl, Jr. of Lowville; a sister Patricia Lyndley of Lowville; brother Robert (Wanda) Smith of Watertown; sister Caroline Ortlieb of Martinsburg; sister Diane Smith of Carthage; brother Harry Smith of Plattsburg; sister Jennie (Mike) Burke of Carthage; sister Linda (Steve) Farney of Lyons Falls and a dear friend Joyce Woodcock, with whom she lived; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Debbie is predeceased by her grandparents, parents, brother Teddy Smith and a nephew Mike Ortlieb. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 15th at 11:30 a.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired minister officiating. Calling hours will be on Friday from 9-11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Private burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.
