LOWVILLE - David C. "Dee" Dunn, 66, of the town of Watson died Saturday evening, April 13, 2019 at Lewis County General Hospital with his family at his side.
David, the son of the late Victor C. "Red" and Beatrice A. (LaQuay) Dunn, was born on April 21, 1952 in Lowville. He graduated from South Lewis High School in 1971. He married Marianne Hitchcock on December 27, 1986 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Bernard H. Christman officiating.
Dee worked in the kitchen of The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter in Turin. He retired from Lowville Farmers Co-op where he worked as a sales associate, delivery driver, and yardman for the building supplies department.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne and their daughter Heather; several nieces and nephews including Gavin Cherry; his five sisters: Charlotte (Warren) Levensailor Jr., Ella (Mark) Hawk, Cynthia Spann, Darlene Drake and Rose Devoe; and the Hitchcock clan including Amy (Sam) See, David (Catherine) Hitchcock, Cathy McNamara, Mark (Leah) Hitchcock, and LucyJo Tuttle.
David is predeceased by his two sisters, Jean M. Dunn, who died in infancy, and Aimee Salmon.
Dee was an avid bowler, competing at Lewis Lanes in many leagues. He enjoyed collecting knives. He was taught how to cook chicken from his father. He loved baking and sharing his cookies with everyone. His biggest joy was spending time with his daughter and being the best uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sundquist Funeral Home. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Murphy, Rector officiating. Burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery following the funeral.
