TURIN - Clinton L. Edick Jr., 78, beloved Father and Grandfather, son of the late Clinton L. and Alice Domser Edick, Sr. passed away on Wednesday evening, March 15, 2017 after a short illness at the home of his daughter under the care of his family and hospice.
Clinton was born on November 24, 1938 in Boonville and graduated from General Martin Central School in Glenfield in June 1957, where he was active in school activities and sports. He married Carol Olmstead on December 21, 1957 . In the past, Clinton was a volunteer fireman for the Constableville Fire Department and he bowled for many years with the C'ville bowling league.
Clinton is survived by his five children, Mrs. Randolph (Laurie) Ehlers of Lyons Falls; Michael Edick of Boonville; Kenneth Edick of Watertown; Robert Edick of Kent; Mrs. James (Melissa) Kenealy of Lowville; his sister Claris Levensailor of Port Leyden; 13 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Janis Muha.
He was employed by the Georgia Pacific Paper Company in Lyons Falls for many years before buying a dairy farm on Rugg Rd in Port Leyden. After selling the family farm he became a school bus driver for South Lewis Central School . In June 1997 he became a tractor trailer driver and trainer for MS Carriers based out of Memphis Tennessee . While there he set a record, scoring an overall 99.45 on both his written and road test to achieve the highest score ever in the MS Carriers Professional Driving Academy. He later returned to driving school bus at South Lewis Central School until he retired in 2005. After retiring he drove for Shue Brothers Port Leyden. In 2006 he moved to Albion , NY where he delivered Meals on Wheels for Orleans County until his illness.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, March 19th from 4-7 pm at the Sundquist Funeral Home. His funeral will be on Monday, March 20th at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor of St. Peter's Catholic Church officiating. A private burial with the family will happen in the spring in Martinsburg Cemetery .
