LOWVILLE - Christopher J. Steria, 32 formerly of Railroad Street died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility where he had resided since 2009. He was under the care of his family and the 3rd floor nursing home staff. Born in Lowville on November 25, 1979 the son of Ralph and Kathy Dean Steria, Chris graduated from Lowville Central School in 1998. An area resident all his life he resided with his grandmother Rosemary on Railroad Street. His interest included sports, he loved basketball, and followed the NY Giants and the Vikings. Chris enjoyed being with his family. Christopher was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church where he served as an altar server. Surviving are his father and step mother, Ralph and Laurie Steria of Glenfield; his brother Adam Steria of Glenfield; a sister and her husband, Nicole and Bob Workman of Carthage; his grandmothers, Rosemary Dean and Doris Steria of Lowville; aunts, uncles and cousins. His mother Kathy, his grandfathers, Richard Dean, Harold Steria predeceased him. A funeral mass will be said on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 3rd from 6 to 8pm at the Sundquist Funeral Home.
