LOWVILLE - Cecile Louise Aucter, 73, formerly of Syracuse died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility. Miss Aucter was born October 5, 1941, in Lowville the daughter of the late William J. and Mary Rose "Marie" (Dicob) Aucter. She was educated at the Washington-Irving school in Syracuse and was employed by the Van Duyn Nursing Home in Syracuse as a housekeeper and worked as a waitress in the Syracuse area. Miss Aucter was never married. She very much enjoyed keeping in touch with her nieces writing notes to them on a regular basis, doing puzzles and shopping. Miss Aucter was a member and communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church in Syracuse and of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Croghan. A funeral mass will be said on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Croghan with Rev. Christopher Carrara, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Stephen's Cemetery. Memorials in Cecile Aucter's name may be made to donor's choice. Miss Aucter is survived by her two sisters: Viola Marolf and Shirley Ardison both of Turin; her brother, Herbert Aucter of Croghan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her brother Sylvester W. Aucter died before her.
