LOWVILLE - Cecil A. Waterman, 90, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility where he has resided since September of 2008. Mr. Waterman was born on October 15, 1922 in Barnes Corners, the son of the late Arthur and the late Geneva Fee Waterman. He attended Lowville Free Academy and received his GED, he continued his education and became a licensed practical nurse. Cecil went to work for Payne Jones and retired from Pajco Mfg. as a machine tender in 1984. He married Mary A. Herman on June 3, 1950 at Adams, NY. Cecil and Mary made their home on the corner of Clinton and West State Streets. Mary died on February 1, 2006. Cecil was also former resident of Valley View Courts. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jan and John Cieslak of Crystaldale; a brother and his wife, Duane and Elsie Waterman of Peru, NY; a large extended family from Barnes Corners. He is predeceased by his daughter Christine A. Richardson. Cecil enjoyed the outdoors, spending time on the St. Lawrence River, and the Adirondacks. He was very proud to have written and published a collection of his poetry. A funeral service will be on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, retired minister officiating. A calling hour will be prior to the service. Burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery in May.
