TURIN - Cecelia M. Chrzanowski, 93, passed away early Monday morning, March 12, 2012, at Lewis County General Hospital. Cecelia was born on March 18, 1918, in Nanticoke, PA, the daughter of the late Thomas and Pauline Melifski Kaido and was raised in West Leyden where she attended school. On June 14, 1941, Cecelia was married to Alexander W. Chrzanowski at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Constableville with Rev. Edward C. Rivette officiating. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm while raising their seven children. After Mr. Chrzanowski's death in 1974, Cecelia remained on the homestead where she had lived since 1947. In addition to helping with the daily farm chores, she spent many hours in both her flower and vegetable gardens, enjoyed word searches, jigsaw puzzles and all her grandchildren. Surviving Mrs. Chrzanowski are her children: Thomas and Liz of Penfield; Henry and Alice of Constableville; Edward of Turin; Jean Marie and John Demko of Lowville; Cindy and Tim Petrus of Constableville; Eileen and Bob Liseno of Lake Placid and Diane and Chris Tibbles of Watertown; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; two brothers and their wives: Chester and Caroline Kaido of Ava and Walter and Eleanor Kaido of West Leyden and two sisters: Sophie Riegler of Ava and Angline Toper of New Hartford. She is predeceased by her two sisters: Betty Kaido and Lottie Mack and her brother, Joseph Kaido. A funeral mass will held on Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Christopher Carrara, pastor officiating. Spring burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Constableville. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 14th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Sundquist Funeral Home.
