LOWVILLE - Bernard D. "Bud" Halladay, 79, of the River Road, passed away at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility on Friday, August 29, 2014. Bernard was born in Lowville on October 9, 1934, a son of the late Donald and Dorothy Brouty Halladay and attended Beaver Falls High School. On May 23, 1953, he married Joyce M. Clinch at the Nazzarene Church in Lowville. Bernard drove milk truck for many years; first for Glenn Hunziker; then for Tony Roy trucking and retired from Lowville Academy as a bus driver. In his sparetime, he bowled in a co-ed league and enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving Bernard is his wife Joyce and their children: Cindy and Ed Patterson, Glenfield; Sandra and Donald Robbins, Glenfield; Douglas and Peggy Halladay, Lowville; Rex and Jane Halladay, Chenango Forks and Christine Anderson and her companion Bill Markel, Harrisburg, PA; three brothers: Charlie and Joyce Halladay, Lowville; Burton and Sandy Halladay, Martinsburg and Keith and Betty Halladay, Alabama; his sister Patricia Hulbert, Lowville; a step-brother Jim and Renee Hulbert, Glenfield; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. Bernard was predeceased by two sisters Marilyn Lee and Jacquelyn Widrick and step-brother William Hulbert. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hardy, Pastor of the Bethel Nazarene Church. Burial will take place in the Beaches Bridge Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. on Monday evening, September 1st at the funeral home.
