HARRISVILLE - Beatrice M. Kaler, 84, of the Hogsback Road, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Beatrice was born on July 18, 1926, in Palermo, NY, a daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel Winks Morrison and attended school in both Amsterdam and Harrisville schools. On March 9, 1956, she was married to Luther Kaler at the Church of the Nazarene Parsonage on Jackson Street in Lowville with Rev. George Douglas officiating. Mrs. Kaler worked at Beaverite in Beaver Falls after her marriage living in New Bremen and Croghan. The couple then later moved to the Harrisville area. Beatrice especially enjoyed reading, sewing and gardening. A previous marriage to John B. Whitney ended in divorce. Surviving Mrs. Kaler is her husband of 55 years, Luther and their four children: Pauline and Blaine Thomas and Laura Kloster all of Harrisville; Donald and Catherine Kaler of Mauk, GA and David and Terry Kaler of Monett, MO; her three sisters: Virginia and Ralph Dwyer of Clayton, Grace Campney of Ocala, FL and Kathleen Robbins of Williamstown, NY; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by their daughter, Shirley Hosmer; her brother, Elmer Morrison; two sisters, Betty Weller and Karen Hosmer and a great-great-granddaughter, Jillian Alberson. A memorial service will take place at a later date at the Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Lowville with Rev. Keith W. Hardy, pastor officiating. Mrs. Kaler will be buried in the Old Glendale Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 N. State Street, Lowville, NY.
