LOWVILLE - Beatrice M. Ocampo, 77, formerly of Valley View Courts, passed away early Monday morning, November 17, 2014, at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility where she was a resident. Mrs. Ocampo was born on January 10, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of the late Elbert C. and Beatrice C. Paterson Wood where she graduated from St. Joseph's High School. She then furthered her education in Euclid, OH. at Notre Dame College where she received her bachelor's of religious studies from Wadhams Hall Seminary College. LOWVILLE - Beatrice M. Bea was married on January 11, 1958, in Strongsville, OH, to Dr. Pacifico Ocampo. "Pat", who was a well-known obstetrician in Lowville, died on December 5, 1997. While living in Rochester, NY, she attended St. Bernard's Institute for her master of sacred scripter and spirituality. Bea worked for St. Charles Borromeo Prayer Center in Greece, NY. Upon returning to the North Country, she founded Visitation Ministries, gave numerous parish missions and held retreats for adults, teens, and bible studies with healing ministries. She was a vowed secular Carmelite and spiritual formation directress. Her calling hours for family and friends will be on Monday, November 24th at 9:00 A.M. at the Sundquist Funeral Home until a prayer service at11:15 A.M. Bea was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lowville, where a funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 24, 2014, at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor officiating. Spring burial will be in Lowville Rural Cemetery. Surviving are her two children, Michael B. and Lori Ocampo of Lynchburg, VA; Celeste and Eric Phillips of Macedon; seven grandchildren, her siblings, Mary Martin of Crescent, IA; Timothy and Susan Wood of Sparta, GA; Elbert and Angela Wood of Covina, CA. She is predeceased by her three sons, David A., Christopher W., and Eric S., two daughters, Tala Maria and Maria Theresa.
