GLENFIELD - Barbara V. Mazur, 93, died on Monday, October 2, 2017 , at Lewis County General Hospital .
Mrs. Mazur was born December 4, 1923 , in the town of Martinsburg , the daughter of the late Stephen D. and Anastasia (Ermola) Pleskach. Barbara attended General Martin High School and married Chester C. Mazur on June 9, 1945 , in Fish Creek , NY with Rev. Rivette officiating. Chet died in November of 1961.
After Chet was discharged from the Army, he and Barb built Mazur's Tavern in Glenfield, where Barb's spaghetti sauce became a favorite dish. In addition to her cooking skills, Barb loved traveling. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her three sons, Frederick S. Mazur (Ronald S.) of Kaiserslauten , Germany , Michael D. (Debra) Mazur of Greig; and Kevin G. (Cindy) Mazur of Oswego; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her brother Stephen Pleskach, and a sister-in-law, Betty Pleskach both of Lowville. Her brother's, Charles, John and Alex, sister's Nina Vary, Helen Fetcie, Edith Lasher and Mary Roye predeceased her.
A private burial will be in Old Glendale Cemetery .
