Obituary

Anna Albertson Burdick, 96, of Watson, passed away on Tuesday, May 6th at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility.

She was born May 22, 1928 at home in Martinsburg to George and Bertha Albertson. She spent all her life in the area and as a teenager she lived in what is now Miller's Store in Watson. She married Ernest Kostrub in 1950 and they built a home in Watson. A few years later Ernie passed away from cancer. Anna and Ernie had a son, Steven.

She met and married Everett Burdick on June 29, 1957 and continued to live in Watson until both having failing health. They were able to continue to live together at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility until Everett passed, January 26, 2025.

Many remember Anna as the Town Clerk of Watson until she retired after 28 years. She also served as secretary for Beaches Bridge Cemetery for 41 years.

Anna had many hobbies through the years including Bible Study, gardening, basket weaving and traveling, but her favorite was playing cards with friends and family. She was a member of Glenfield United Methodist Church.

Anna leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Bud Hall of Lowville, a son Warren of Lowville, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Kostrub of Glenfield, a brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Darlene Burdick of Glenfield, a sister-in-law, Linda Burdick of Glenfield, five grandchildren, and two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.

Anna is predeceased by her husband Everett, her first husband, Ernie Kostrub, her son, Steven Kostrub, her brother-in-law, David Burdick, her brother, John Albertson, and her sister, Margaret Schindler.

There will be no calling hours or funeral. A private burial will be at family convenience.

The family would like to say a special "Thank you" to, Amy Malbouf and Diane Bush, who were Anna's loving caregivers. They enabled her to remain at her home as long as possible.

Also, a "Thank you" to the staff at Lewis County Hospital, Lewis County Search and Rescue, and all the caring staff at Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility.
