Alexander Robert Shambo Lowville, NY 7/14/15 - 7/20/15 Our little angel lost his battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome on July 20th 2015 after six short days of life and braving an open heart surgery. Alexander Robert Shambo was born on July 14th 2015 at Rochester "Strong" Memorial Hospital, he weighed 7 lbs 11 oz., 21 inches long. Upon delivery he was moved to the pediatric intensive care unit at Gollisano Children's Hospital due to his in utero diagnosis of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, which he fought strongly for the time he was with us. Alex experienced holding hands with his Mommy and Daddy, hugs and kisses from family, listening to his favorite song "Somewhere over the Rainbow", and being told "I love you" an uncountable amount of times. Alexander is deeply loved by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and many others who followed his journey. He is survived by his parents; Nathaniel E. Shambo and Sarah L. Meekins both of Lowville, NY; Maternal grandparents Robert and Judy Meekins (Lowville, NY); Paternal Grandparents Andy and Debbie Shambo (Hinckley, NY); Aunts and Uncles; Benjamin and Sarah Shambo (Copenhagen, NY), Andrea and James Wheeler (Woodbridge, Virginia). He is also survived by his maternal great grandparents Shirley Meekins (Lowville, NY), Florence Cavanaugh (Turin, NY); Paternal Great Grandparents Roger and Reba Shambo (Copenhagen, NY), and Donna Wheeler (Copenhagen, NY) along with numerous great aunts and uncles. He is being greeted in heaven by his maternal grandfathers Francis Cavanaugh, and Luther Meekins, and Paternal Grandfather Harold "Spot" Wheeler. Services will be held on Friday, July 24th at 12:00 Noon at the Sundquist Funeral Home with Preacher Jim Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Copenhagen. Calling hours will be on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the service at noon.
