WATSON - Albina N. Gyore, 91, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 16, 2017 . Mrs. Gyore was born August 2, 1925 in the Town of Martinsburg , NY daughter of the late Martin and Eva Chudzik Wieczerzak. She graduated from Lowville Free Academy in 1944.
She worked as a secretary for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service prior to her marriage. On October 1, 1949 she married Joseph Gyore at St. Hedwig's Church, Houseville , NY with the Rev. Victor Balcerak officiating. In 1962, together with her husband, they operated the family farm on Gyore Road until their retirement in 1989.
She also served on Town of Watson Board of Elections for several years.
Albina was a communicant of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters and their spouses Susan Gyore and Russ Palum of Rochester; Marcia and Eric Sunderhaft of Lyons Falls, NY; Janet and Jay Maitland of Ontario, her grandson, Austin Maitland; and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gyore is predeceased by her husband Joseph who passed away on January 22, 2016; five sisters; Jennie Wieczerzak, Sophie Sweredoski, Helen Ross, Viola Domago, and Isabel Stanton; and four brothers; John Wieczerzak, Thaddeus Wieczerzak, Adam Wieczerzak and Walter Wieczerzak.
Albina enjoyed working with her husband and together they had many hobbies. She was a wonderful seamstress and spent many hours creating beautiful hand work.
A funeral mass will be said at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Houseville on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Christopher Carrara, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in the
Lowville
Rural
Cemetery
in the spring.
Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church following the mass.
